-The Dam is about 20 miles from Chandler, and is about an hour drive on roads in good condition.  It is a diversion dam for the Roosevelt reservoir with the water being diverted to Phoenix, Mesa, and Chandler.  E.B. Hill, brother of L.C. Hill, is supervising engineer of the Reclamation Service and has charge of the dam.

It is an ideal spot for camping with waterfalls, the Salt River, plenty of brush and trees, and game of many kinds which afford a pleasant week's outing.  John Coleman, who tenders many courtesies to the campers works at the dam.

With very little expense it could be an ideal resort site.  (Chandler Arizonan 4/25/1913)
