    World renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright despised the Mission Revival architecture style in which the San Marcos Hotel was designed and built.  He drafted plans to completely redesign the entire hotel in the 1930s, though due to a lack of funding the plans were never executed.  To see images of Wright's plans for the San Marcos Hotel, contact the Frank Lloyd Wright archives.
