10. Post-World War II

In the Post-World War II era, Willie went through several changes.  After the Air Force was officially created in 1947 Williams Field was renamed Williams Air Force Base.  Williams became the first jet pilot training base in 1949.  In September 1977, the first women to complete pilot training in the country graduated from Williams.  That first class of women is pictured above.
