Myrio Davis was a football star for Hamilton High in the early 2000's. He is perhaps best known for making the game saving tackle in the 2003 5A State Championship game (the Triple Overtime game). A talented defensive back, Davis was named to the All-Region team his sophomore year. He made a repeat performance on the All-Region team his junior year, and was given All-State accolades. Davis won the Tyrone Bird award as the best defensive back in Arizona. He was once again an All-State award winner, and he was named to multiple magazine's all-Arizona teams.
Having cemented his legacy as a Hamilton legend, Davis elected to stay in-state and play at ASU. His college career, unfortunately, did not match his storied high school career. After redshirting his freshman year, Davis transferred to Scottsdale Community College, where he played well-enough to earn a spot at Western New Mexico University. Davis experienced limited playing time during his remaining college seasons.
Myrio Davis was a high school legend. He played a critical role on Hamilton's early title teams, and he will be forever remembered for making the biggest play in the 2003 State Championship Game.
